Welcome Originally a tennis and croquet club dating back to the mid 1870's, the Tennis Section has always played an integral part of day to day life at Rawdon Golf and Lawn Tennis Club. With three recently refurbished all-weather floodlit courts, four grass courts and excellent clubhouse facilities, tennis can be enjoyed by members and thier guests all year round. Club tournaments, fun mixed events and family barbecues are all a regular occurrence enjoyed by the ever increasing membership at the club, so whether you are 8 or 80, a complete beginner or the future Andrew Murray – all persons are welcome to join. Chairmans Message As Chairman of the Tennis Section I am delighted you have joined or are considering joining our Club. The Club prides itself on its welcoming nature, appealing to players of all ages and abilities. Our facilities include three all weather floodlit courts and four grass courts, allowing both all year round play and the opportunity to experience tennis on its original surface in the summer months. Uniquely we share the Clubhouse with the Golf Section. This allows us to benefit from many of its facilities including an excellent choice of food and beverages served daily. These can be enjoyed in the comfortable surroundings of the Buckstone Lounge and it's here also where we hold many of the functions from our busy social calendar. On a representative basis we enter a number of teams at national, regional, and local level. The Club also holds its own tournaments as well as offering ladder and box leagues for single play. Time is also set aside for social and cardio tennis. Coaching is available through Jonathan Sowden our LTA licensed Coach. Jonathan can offer advice and tuition for players of all standards with a special emphasis on juniors. Group or individual lessons are also available.
